New GERSTEL Temperature Control System & "Condensation Terminator"

Posted by Ken Linehan

MéCour-GERSTEL Thermal System, Part No. 80-60GL

Introducing the latest in our accurate and uniform temperature control systems: MéCour's thermal trays that can be configured to integrate with a GERSTEL MultiPurpose Sampler MPS WorkStation or sample preparation robot, independent of the chromatography system. Sample preparation steps are easily set up for maximum flexibility and ease-of-use without compromising sample integrity due to temperature instability. The thermal trays can be designed to accommodate any consumable plate, vial or tubes and provide a temperature range between -40˚C to +200˚C. You are able to conduct specific ramping cycles all within the same MéCour Thermal Block.

SLAS Recap: Thermal Solutions to Increase Your Sample Quality

Posted by Ken Linehan

The SLAS 2014 show was a great success for MéCour in a number of ways. First and foremost, it was the first opportunity to introduce the “Mé” of MéCour Temperature Control, my oldest daughter Meghan Linehan (pictured at right) to many of MéCour’s loyal customers and friends. To say the very least, she made her Father quite proud. The large amount of consistent booth traffic did not deter her from greeting folks and introducing what MéCour does. She quickly learned the basics on MéCour’s fluid driven, circulator controlled thermal systems and the wide temperature range the company offers with precise, stable and uniform management.

MéCour Thermal Block Systems and Circulator Set up for Novices

Posted by Ken Linehan

MéCour has been at it for 14+ years now. We've been listening to customers and their various needs for reliable and stable temperature control for their plates, tubes, media bottles, you name it. We provide the temperature to it. For automation or benchtop applications in Big Pharma, BioTech or local academic institutions or start-up companies, it’s all the same. It doesn’t matter if the required temp is 4°, 37°, -80° or +250°C. All the circulators connect to MéCour Thermal Blocks in the exact same manner. The system technically operates in the same manner as well. No matter what you call them

Nine Questions When Evaluating a Circulator For Thermal Control Apps

Posted by Ken Linehan

How valuable are your samples and results to you?  Do you really know how to pick a circulator to sustain the correct and required thermal control for your application? When you set the thermostat at 4°C are you positive the sample(s) are maintained at 4°C? Where are the temperature losses in your system?

Ice is for Cocktails Not Assays: Five Thermal Control Challenges

Posted by Ken Linehan

I get phone calls every day and talk to people at events about their temperature control methods and challenges. Whether they are working with chemical, immunological or biological assays or prepping and storing cells under ultra-low temperatures, the result is always the same–their conventional temperature control methods are not as effective as they want them to be.
